The application process for Jr. Staff opens on February 7th, 2024.
What is Jr. Staff?
Jr. Staff is a 4 week Discipleship Program designed to prepare aspiring young leaders for ministry, specifically in a Summer Camp setting. In other words; the Jr. Staff Program will equip, inspire, and encourage the next generation of amazing Cabin Leaders, Activities Staff, Media Crew, Kitchen Staff, and Wranglers. The Jr. Staff Program is application based, just like our main staff team.
What to expect:
Jr. Staff members will receive 2 weeks of training at the beginning of the Summer. During this time they’ll develop practical skills and spiritual disciplines through sessions, devotionals, team building, and more. Following their training, Jr. Staff will choose 2 “Flex Weeks” from an available selection to come and work alongside our main staff team. Throughout their time at Evergreen, participants in the Jr. Staff program will be mentored by our Jr. Staff Directors and form a community of like-minded leaders who will support, encourage, and grow with one another.
Who should apply?
The Jr. Staff Program at Camp Evergreen is intended for students entering into Grades 11 and 12 who believe in Jesus Christ and desire to live in obedience to His word by the power of the Holy Spirit. If you are still questioning who Jesus is, are unsure about what it means to be His follower, or would not consider yourself to be a Christian, we encourage you to register for our Impact Camp.
How does the application process work?
Students who wish to participate in the Camp Evergreen Jr. Staff Program will complete an application which will be reviewed by our Camp Directors. The application consists of short answer questions that will help us get to know you and your walk with Christ. Applications will take up to 4 weeks to process from the time you submit, so don’t worry if you don’t hear back from us right away. If you are selected to participate in the program you will receive a confirmation email which will include a link to register. Applications are completed online using the link at the bottom of this page.
Please be aware that, in order to participate in the Jr. Staff program, applicants must state that they agree with Camp Evergreen’s Beliefs and Practises and the Confession of Faith of the Alberta Mennonite Brethren Churches. The Bible teaches us that as Christians, we are meant to be unified in the way that we think as well as the way that we act (Philippians 2:1-2; Romans 15:5; 1 Corinthians 1:10; 2 Corinthians 13:10). In order to ensure the effectiveness of the Jr. Staff Program we need to agree on certain things at the outset. Think of it like building a house. We want to make sure that we’re all building upon the same foundation and following the same blueprint.
